California Agricultural Products, Inc. (CAP) is an elite collective of safety-driven food processors who’ve pooled their resources to successfully form a self-insured group. CAP started in December of 2005 to serve like-minded organizations operating in the food processing community of California by providing self-insured workers’ compensation coverage, allowing employers to experience long-term savings.

CAP can choose to offer membership to only those employers who demonstrate a solid commitment to superior operations. Membership is offered to those who meet the following requirements:

$100K Annual Minimum Contribution

  1. Members of the group make contributions and the workers’ compensation self-insured group then pays the claims and expenses

  1. Costs are lowered through a group of safety-minded companies to limit losses

  1. Professional risk management, additional training programs and consulting help minimize the claims

  1. Monies not paid in claims and expenses are owned by the members and reserved for future use
